St Florian was the first known commander of one Firefighting squad in the Roman Empire. He lost his life, as well as those of his colleagues, for protecting the same humane ideas which Firefighters all over the world share even today.
The St. Florian Pipers Society is a 501c3 non profit established by members of the CAL FIRE Local 2881 Pipes & Drums to foster the playing of the Great Highland Bagpipe, especially by service pipers.
The Redding Bagpipe Competition is the primary way the SFPS achieves our mission.
